Elşən Qəmbərov ( Russian Эльшан Гамбаров / Elschan Gambarow , Uzbek Elshan Gambarov , born October 30, 1972 in the Azerbaijani SSR , Soviet Union ) is an Azerbaijani football player on the position of midfielder . He currently plays for Bakılı Baku PFK in the top division of Azerbaijani football, the Premyer Liqası .

Career

In the club

Qəmbərov began his career as a professional football player in 1990 in what was then the Soviet Union at FK Dinamo Baku . He remained loyal to the club until 1993 before he transferred to the Russian football club Anzhi Makhachkala . Only one year later, Qəmbərov switched to Dynamo Makhachkala, also based in Makhachkala , for one year in 1994 . For the city rivals, he completed just 15 games before he changed clubs again to accept an offer from PFK Turan Tovuz . After two years with PFK Turan Tovuz in the top division of Azerbaijan, the Premyer Liqası , Qəmbərov made another change.

This time he moved for one year from 1996 to 1997 to Baki Fehlesi , which he left only a year later to go to FK Baku . Qəmbərov only played ten games for FK Baku, then the journey went on again. This time his stop was Uzbekistan . From 1998 to 1999 he was in the squad of Navbahor Namangan and left the club again to return to Azerbaijan for a year and to accept an offer from Neftçi Baku . After only one year in his home country, he went back to Uzbekistan, where he was offered a contract by FK Dinamo Samarkand. Born in the Azerbaijani SSR , Qəmbərov agreed and played for the Uzbek club from 1999 to 2002. In the year there were some club changes for Qəmbərov. First he moved again to Navbahor Namangan and shortly afterwards transferred to Kazakhstan to Qysylschar Petropawl .

He remained loyal to the Kazakhs for only a year before he made repeated moves to Uzbekistan when he was signed by FK Mashʼal Muborak in 2003 . Here, too, Qəmbərov only stayed a year before returning to his home country, where he was once again accepted by Neftçi Baku from 2003 to 2005. In the two years he did not come to a single assignment, which gave him the opportunity to change clubs again. First it went for a year to FK Gəncə and again a year later to FK Olimpik Baku , where he was used in eight games in two years. From 2007 to 2008 Qəmbərov ran in nine games for the PFK Simurq Zaqatala . In 2008 there was another move to Uzbekistan's FK Dinamo Samarkand, for whom he did not appear in the league until he left.

In 2009 he signed a contract with Bakılı Baku PFK from his Azerbaijani homeland. By the end of the 2008/09 season, he completed eight championship games for the club.

In the national team

Qmbərov completed a total of twelve international matches for the Azerbaijani national football team . He played the games from 1994 to 2004.
