El Postre (in German: the dessert ) is a German rap metal band from Kamp-Lintfort near Duisburg in the Ruhr area .

history

El Postre was founded in 1997 by the brothers Marcel and Andres de la Puente . After several demo recordings and unofficial recordings, El Postre's first official album Das Fundament was released in 2006 . The song Tief im Herzen , a duet with singer Rabea, was released as the first single . After another single called Urlaubreif in 2008, the band decided to make music independently of the label. In the spring of 2008 the first self-produced CD, an EP called Malocher Mix Schacht 1 , was released as a free download . In October of the same year, a new album Meister-Werk was offered , also as a free download on the band's website. In 2009, the successor to Malocher Mix Schacht 1 came as a free download on their official website. It is called Malocher Mix Shaft 2 . In 2010 the fourth free download album was released, it is called Wechselschicht . In December 2010 the band announced on their official Myspace presence that DJ Stefan "Nafex" Hoppe had left the band due to personal differences.

The resigned member was replaced by a second guitarist in the summer of 2012. In the meantime, the current album has been completed then as now . Like its predecessors, this album will be distributed as a free download. For the band's 15th anniversary, there is also a strictly limited edition of 500 copies of the new album as a CD digipack, which was available for purchase at concerts.

At the beginning of 2016, the band decided to work with the Lower Rhine indie label Quasilectric . A re-release of the album "Damals Wie heute" was released in May of this year. Her current, self-produced album "Schweres Gerät" was released on October 28, 2016.
