Elanders is a Swedish infomedia and printing company that operates in ten countries on four continents and has a number of subsidiaries. The company has been listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange since 1989 . Elanders now employs 7,200 people in 19 countries. The group generates an annual turnover of 900 million euros.

Elanders emerged from a printing company founded in 1908 by Otto Elander, Nils Hellner and Emil Ekström in Sweden .

In January 2007 Elanders acquired Sommer Corporate Media in Waiblingen , Germany. On June 1st, 2008 Elanders took over Mairs Graphische Betriebe in Ostfildern , Germany, which belongs to the MairDumont publishing group .

In March 2012 Elanders acquired fotokasten and d | o | m Deutsche Online Medien GmbH in Waiblingen, Germany. fotokasten offers personalized photo products that users can design online and have them delivered to their homes. The company fotokasten GmbH was founded in 2000 by Meik-M. Lindberg and Ralph Hesse founded in Ratingen near Hanover. In the same year the first branch opened in Esslingen. In 2003, all business areas that were previously located in Rendsburg and Esslingen were merged in the heart of Stuttgart, on the Feuersee. In 2007 the company moved to its current location in Waiblingen near Stuttgart. In 2010 the free application “foto-kasten fun” in the Apple iTunes Store was among the top 10 in the photography sector . The iPhone application “fotokasten fun” was downloaded 930,000 times in 2010 and used by 10,000 people every day. fotokasten was also one of the first providers of photo advent calendars .

Elanders continued the strategic expansion of the company in the field of photo finishing with the purchase of the Europe-wide photo book manufacturer myphotobook GmbH , based in Berlin, in August 2013. Myphotobook GmbH was founded in 2004 by David Diallo and Jan Christoph Gras and is one of the leading European providers in the field of digital photo print services and photo book production with offers in Belgium, Denmark, Germany, England, France, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain. Elanders intended to advance and restructure the e-commerce area of ​​myphotobook GmbH, whose turnover was around 16 million euros, under the responsibility of board member and new managing director Martin Lux. In addition to the online shop for end customers, in which all sorts of photo products such as photo books (see photo book ), photo gifts , murals and creative sets such as scrapbooks are offered, myphotobook also developed a white label model for B2B customers in cooperation with d | o | m GmbH , which also enables other companies or websites to offer photo products.

In June 2016 Elanders bought the logistics service provider LGI for 257 million euros.
