Elard Ordemann

Elard Ordemann (born May 14, 1866 in Bremen , † December 26, 1945 in Gadderbaum ) was a pastor and local researcher.

biography

Ordemann was born as the son of the master butcher and later successful gold prospector in Australia and grain trader Conrad Ordemann and his wife Auguste Sophie Maria Caroline Hartig. He attended Christoffer Debbe's secondary school in Pelzerstraße and the old grammar school in Bremen.

Since 1886 he studied theology at the University of Tübingen , the University of Halle and the University of Bonn . In 1892 he became pastor at the Nikolaikirche in Gröpelingen . Ordemann made the ecclesiastical differences in the community to create, in which he took an orthodox point of view.

In addition to his theological work, he was also interested in the history of his surroundings: in 1928 he self-published the 36-page booklet Pictures from Gröpelingen's Past , in which he illustrated the development of the farming village outside the Bremen city walls into an industrial district of Bremen as well describes its inhabitants and their lives.
