The preschool was located at Domsheide No. 15 until 1872. In the 1870s, thanks to Drebbe's drive, it became an independent secondary school with around 600 to 700 students. The Debber School or Realschule CW Debbe  - as it was officially called - moved to Pelzerstraße 9 in the old town in 1872 and expanded to include the neighboring properties 8 and 11. Since 1894, the school was supported by the state with 6,000 marks . In 1897 Debbe sold the buildings in Pelzerstraße to the women's acquisition and training association . His school now moved to Ansgariitorstrasse No. 14 between Am Wall and Kniehauerstrasse . With the limited financial support, Debbe could not pay the increasing teachers' salaries and he negotiated with the state. In 1899, Bremen took over the school, which became a secondary school to the secondary school in the old town and now comprised ten classes, three of which were elementary schools . Debbe retired in 1899. The school became an auxiliary school in 1906 .
