Band history
Founding of The Wildbunch
In 1996 the band around Dick Valentine (real name Tyler Spencer, vocals and lyrics ), Rock and Roll Indian (real name Anthony Selph, guitar ), Surge Joebot (guitar), Disco (real name Steve Nawara, electric bass ) and M ( bourgeois Cory Martin, drums ) founded as The Wildbunch . Tait Nucleus ( keyboard , synthesizer ) joins them later.
The band changes members frequently. Over time, a total of four guitarists, four bassists, five keyboardists and three drummers play. In the beginning the band released only a few pieces, instead they performed frequently in the Detroit area, and the members claim to enjoy being musicians.
With the single Danger! High Voltage and an accompanying music video finally made Electric Six's breakthrough in 2002. The band is particularly successful in Great Britain , where the single reached number 2 in the charts. Rumor has it that Jack White of The White Stripes co-produced the piece.
Renamed Electric Six
As one of Bristol native DJ - and MC group from the 1980s already named The Wild Bunch bears that later Massive Attack rises, the band is finally in Electric Six renamed.
In 2003 the first album Fire appears under the new band name. Shortly after the album was released, Rock and Roll Indian , Surge Joebot and Disco left the group and were replaced by John R. Dequindre , Johnny Na $ hinal and The Colonel .
In 2004, they covered Queen's song Radio Ga Ga , which caused outrage among Queen fans because Dick Valentine dances on Freddie Mercury's grave as the ghost of Freddie Mercury in the accompanying music video . According to the band, they just wanted to show how Mercury is brought back to life for three and a half minutes.
Señor Smoke will be released in February 2005. In the meantime, her song will be Danger! High Voltage also on the soundtrack to Charlie's Angels - Full Throttle published.
In 2006 the third work Switzerland is published , which, according to the band, bears the title in the hope that one would be invited to Switzerland because of it. Dick Valentine called it "the best work" that Electric Six had published until then, and they tried to make a music video for every single song.
One year after their 2007 album I Shall Exterminate Everything Around Me That Restricts Me From Being the Master , their fifth studio album called Flashy followed in October 2008 .
The band currently consists of Dick Valentine (vocals), Tait Nucleus? (Keyboard, synthesizer), John R. Dequindre (electric bass), Johnny Na $ hinal (lead guitar), The Colonel (lead guitar) and Percussion World (drums).
