Elena Lunda

Elena Lunda (born February 21, 1901 in Palermo , Sicily , Italy , † December 9, 1947 in Rome ) was an Italian silent film actress active in Italy and Germany .

Live and act

The Sicilian was discovered for the film at the age of 17 and brought in front of the camera towards the end of the First World War. Over the next four years, Elena Lunda worked with the leading directors of her time, including Mario Caserini , Amleto Palermi and Gaston Ravel , without leaving too much of a mark.

In 1923 she and her compatriot, the director Gennaro Righelli , went to Germany for a film offer (“ Bohème ”), and from then on Lunda received medium-sized roles in less important film productions in Berlin and Munich by moderately talented directors such as Géza von Bolváry and Alfred Halm , Georg Jacoby and Erich Schönfelder were staged. In the 1920s she played alongside popular Italian screen stars such as Carmen Boni , Maria Jacobini and Bartolomeo Pagano . After only three years Elena Lunda returned to Rome and continued her film work there. However, her career came to a standstill in 1928: Lunda did not succeed in making the transition from silent to sound films.
