Eleonore Berchtold-Ostermann (born October 12, 1947 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer and former judge at the Constitutional Court .

Life

In 1965 she passed the matriculation examination at the Bundesrealgymnasium für Mädchen Wien XIX. She studied law and in 1970 at the University of Vienna to Dr. iur doctorate. In 1973 she completed another degree at the Vienna University of Economics and Business as Mag. Rer. soc. oec. from. In addition, from 1969 she worked as an assistant at the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law at the University of Vienna.

In 1976 she switched to the constitutional service of the Federal Chancellery . In 1977 she passed the administrative service examination. In 1978 she became a research assistant at the Constitutional Court. She had been a lawyer since 1982 . In 1991 she became a Disciplinary Councilor of the Vienna Bar Association and in 1996 she became Vice-President of the Disciplinary Board.

The Federal Council nominated her as a judge at the Constitutional Court on the proposal of the ÖVP . She then worked as a judge at the Constitutional Court from 1997 to December 31, 2017, the year in which she reached the constitutionally stipulated age limit of 70 years.
