Elfriede Ettl

Elfriede Ettl (born February 28, 1914 in Frauenkirchen ; † November 20, 2003 in Eisenstadt ) was an Austrian painter and art teacher.

Life

Ettl became a nun of the Sisters of the Divine Redeemer in 1933 . She was a teacher at the Theresianum Eisenstadt and a nurse in Košice, Slovakia. From 1940 to 1945 Ettl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. Two participations (1954 and 1961) in Oskar Kokoschka's School of Seeing at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg were decisive for the direction of her work . Then further training with Josef Dobrowsky . The watercolor was Ettl's domain.
