Elfriede von Mühlenfels

Elfriede von Mühlenfels (* around 1810 in Greifswald ; † January 12, 1884 in Dresden ) was a German writer.

Life

Elfriede (baptismal name: Friderine) von Mühlenfels was a daughter of Johann Jakob von Mühlenfels and his third wife Juliane Katharina Magdalena von Klein. She continued her education with major trips through Sweden, Switzerland and Italy. From 1830 she lived in Berlin and later in Dresden . In 1847 she established a foundation in Rammenau and in 1858 the Mühlenfels Foundation named after her. Furthermore, in 1848 she was one of the founders of a “women's association for the acquisition of a warship” in Berlin and Potsdam, which led to the construction of the ship “ Frauenlob ” in Wolgast in 1855 .
