Eliahu "Eli" Balas ( Hebrew אלי בלס; * 1955 or 1956 in Israel ) is a professional American- Israeli poker player . He is three-time bracelet winner of the World Series of Poker .

Poker career

Career

Balas has been participating in renowned live tournaments since 1992 .

At the end of April 1992 Balas was successful for the first time at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Binion's Horseshoe in Las Vegas and first came into the money at a tournament of the Seven Card Stud variant . About two weeks later, he prevailed at an event in Limit Omaha Hi / Lo and secured a bracelet and a prize of 122,400 US dollars . At the 1995 WSOP , Balas finished second in Limit Hold'em and received just under $ 160,000 in prize money. In 1999 he finished second in a WSOP tournament in Seven Card Stud for around $ 100,000 and then won his second bracelet in a No Limit Hold'em event , for which he received a prize of $ 220,000. At the 2004 WSOP , Balas secured his third bracelet with a limit hold'em tournament victory and a payout of almost $ 175,000.
