Eli von Haber , also Emil von Haber , (born August 22, 1807 in Karlsruhe , † August 22, 1881 in Berlin ) was a German doctor and parliamentarian.

Life

Eli von Haber was born the son of the Baden and Prussian court agent and court banker Salomon von Haber (1764–1839). From 1826 he studied medicine at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1827 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg . In 1828 he joined the Corps Bado-Würtembergia in Göttingen . In 1830 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. After graduation he was a circle surgeon in Rybnik . Later he settled as a doctor in Berlin, where he also lived as a pensioner.

On December 14, 1843, his brother Moritz von Haber (1798–1874) fatally injured the Baden officer Georg von Sarachaga-Uria (* 1811; brother of the Heidelberg Swabian Mariano von Uria ) in a duel in Oggersheim .

Haber was a member of the Prussian National Assembly from 1848. In 1849 he sat in the first legislative period as a member of the constituency of Opole in the Prussian House of Representatives . He belonged to the faction of the Left Center.
