Eliane Rutishauser

Eliane Rutishauser (* 1963 in Schaffhausen ) is a photographer and artist . She lives and works in Zurich .

Professional background

Rutishauser studied photography at the Zurich School of Design from 1990 to 1995 and at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver in 1994 .

She works in various media such as photography, print, video and performance. For artist residencies , she held u. a. in Clarksville / Tennessee , Berlin , Montreal / Canada and New York . In addition to her individual practice, Rutishauser also works with other artists, including Klodin Erb for the Baby or Is Fischli Weiss ? . From 2000 to 2009 Rutishauser was active in the artists' group with . Together with the photographer Roland Iselin, she ran the Motor14 exhibition space in Zurich from 1997-2000 , where, among others, Olaf Breuning , Nadja Athanasiou and Andrea Helbling exhibited. She has shown her own works in solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and internationally.

From 2006 to 2010, Rutishauser and Gian Vaitl developed the photo school Project 5.6 in Tirana / Albania on behalf of Pro Helvetia . She teaches u. a. also at the ZHAW , the GAF (group of autodidactic photographers) and at the F + F school for art and design .

In 2008 she founded Lee Li Photography with Françoise Caraco . Lee Li Photography develops image concepts in the areas of documentation, advertising and web presence.

Eliane Rutishauser often photographs projects and performances by other artists, such as the Giswil performance festival and performances by the artist Bruno Jakob.
