Elijah Allen

Elijah Gabriel Allen (born September 18, 1989 in Columbus ) is an American - German basketball player . The 1.95 meter tall winger is under contract with third division VfL Bochum . Allen is married to a German and took German citizenship in 2016.

Player career

Allen is from Columbus , Ohio . In his hometown, he played basketball at St. Francis DeSales High School between 2003 and 2007, followed by four years at Northwest Missouri State University from the second division of the NCAA . He came to 103 missions during this time and averaged 12.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per encounter.

After completing his studies, he became a professional basketball player and moved to VfB 1900 Gießen in the 1st Regionalliga Süd-West in 2012. Allen played there until the end of the 2013/14 season and then accepted an offer from Licher BasketBären from the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . He also spent two years there.

In June 2016 he was signed by the Oettinger Rockets Gotha from the second highest German division, the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . In May 2017 he celebrated promotion to the basketball league with the Thuringians . Allen was used in 41 games during the season and scored an average of 5.7 points per game.

At the beginning of August 2017 he was signed by ProA league club VfL Kirchheim . In the course of the 2017/18 season, Allen played 30 games for Kirchheim, in which he posted averages of 9.8 points and five rebounds. In mid-May 2018, the winger was signed by the Bundesliga relegated Tigers Tübingen  . He scored an average of 8.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per encounter in 30 missions in the 2018/19 game year. It was his only season in Tübingen. He then went to the Iserlohn Kangaroos in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB, where he signed a contract in September 2019. After a year in Iserlohn, in which he was the team's best thrower with 16 points per encounter, Allen accepted an offer from league rivals VfL Bochum , the commitment was published in August 2020.
