Elin Kristina Wallin (born December 29, 1884 in Gothenburg , † March 25, 1969 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish artist and painter .

Life

Elin, the daughter of elementary school teacher Viktor Lundberg and his wife Anna Lundberg, née Kalling, grew up at 13 Ekersgatan in Örebro. After attending the girls' school there, she graduated from the Rudbeck High School in Örebro in 1902. In the same year she made the master craftsman's examination for handicraft with Hulda Lundin (1847-1921) in Stockholm. Elin then studied to 1904 at Caleb Althin (1866-1919) in the Östermalmer Grevgatan 26 painting . In her early Stockholm years she took evening classes in art and design at Konstfack . From 1905 to 1906 and from 1910 to 1911 Elin continued her studies of painting at the Paris Académie Colarossi away. Between 1905 and 1911 she traveled to Denmark , Italy , Germany and London .

Elin Wallin was particularly productive as a painter and draftsman from 1902 to 1919.

From 1913 she lived with the family on Hjärnegatan 10 in Kungsholmen and from 1928 on Karlavägen 43 in Östermalm.

Elin Wallin found her final resting place on the Solnaer Norra begravningsplatsen .

Elin Lundberg married David Wallin on September 14, 1905 . The couple had seven children. The housewife faced challenges with inner strength. Elin's daughter, the painter Bianca Wallin (1909–2006) and her son, the painter Sigurd Wallin (1916–1999) became known.
