Elisa Simantke

Elisa Simantke (* 1986 in Cologne ) is a German journalist and coordinator of the European research network Investigate Europe . She previously worked for the capital city office of the daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel . She is a lecturer at the Institute for Media and Communication Studies at the Free University of Berlin .

Simantke studied politics and economics at the University of Cologne . She completed her journalistic training at the Cologne School of Journalism for Politics and Business. Simantke wrote a. a. also for Die Zeit und Zeit Online .

Awards

  • 2015: Otto Brenner Prize in the Newcomer Prize category, for the Europoly dossier - Privatization under the Troika , November 12, 2014, published in Tagesspiegel No. 22223
  • 2019: Hans-Matthöfer-Preis for business journalism, together with Harald Schumann , for the contribution A money company on the way to global domination , published in Der Tagesspiegel , May 8th 2018.
