Unterkarpfsee is a district of the Bad Heilbrunn municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen . The village is about two kilometers northwest of Bad Heilbrunn.

On May 1, 1978, the independent municipality of Schönrain was dissolved from the Bad Tölz district . Some districts were incorporated into Königsdorf , others such as Unterkarpfsee came to Bad Heilbrunn.
