Elisabeth Langgässer Literature Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Elisabeth Langgässer Literature Prize is a literary prize that is awarded every three years by the city of Alzey in honor of the writer Elisabeth Langgässer, who was born in Alzey on February 23, 1899 . German-speaking authors have been honored since 1988, whose work, thanks to its linguistic expression, should be a worthy successor to Elisabeth Langgässer. The prize is endowed with 7,500 euros, which has come from the Volksbank Alzey Foundation since 2006 .

The advisory board for the award ceremony in 2018 consisted of the writer Irina Wittmer , the literary scholar Karl-Josef Kuschel , the cultural critic Thomas Koch, Karlheinz Müller as a representative of the Elisabeth Langgässer Society and Gerhard Hoffmann as a representative of the city of Alzey.
