Elisabeth Altenrichter-Dicke
Elisabeth Altenrichter-Dicke (born April 28, 1929 near Ennepetal ; † December 28, 2013 in Ennepetal) was a German painter, sculptor, graphic artist, textile artist and glass painter.
Life
Elisabeth Dicke grew up with three siblings on the Fuhr in Milspe . Her father was a master painter and painter as well as a hobby painter. She attended secondary school in Voerde and high school in Gevelsberg . After graduating from high school, she studied free and applied painting at the Werkkunstschule Wuppertal, among others with Ernst Oberhoff , where she graduated as a muralist. Afterwards, Dicke studied sculpture at the Munich Art Academy . From 1951 she worked as a freelance artist. Elisabeth Altenrichter-Dickes' area of work included wall painting, metal sculpture, glass painting and the design of tapestries. She lived with her husband, the Hagen artist Hans Altenrichter, on Jellinghauser Weg in Ennepetal.

Elisabeth Altenrichter-Dicke designed more than 160 churches in Germany and other countries. She created more than 2000 stained glass windows for church and secular buildings.
