Elisabeth Florin (actually Claudia Vogl-Mühlhaus ; born August 4, 1958 in Augsburg ) is a German author and financial journalist .

Life

After a journalism seminar in Munich , the native Bavarian completed seminars and internships in Brixen and Bolzano , among others at the German broadcaster Radiotelevisione Italiana . She has now been working as an author, financial journalist and communications expert for banks and fund companies in Frankfurt am Main for twenty years . To compensate for this hectic working day, she started to write a book in 2003.

The time she spent in South Tyrol was very formative. Inspired by this region and its history, her first detective novel takes place in Merano . Commissario Pavarotti hits no note was published by Emons-Verlag in 2013. With the cozy, Italian-born Luciano Pavarotti and the bitchy German tourist Lissie, who wants to prove herself as an amateur detective, she has created an unequal pair of investigators as protagonists. Pavarotti represents a character "for whom a famous name is a burden that is very difficult to cope with". The South Tyrolean bomb years form the historical background . Crime reviewer Christian Koch is of the opinion that the author succeeded in integrating German, Italian and Austrian history into the content of the novel. The detective novel is also an important means of transport for socially relevant topics. In 2013, the book was on the bestseller list of South Tyrol's best-selling books for six months, twice even number 1. Commissario Pavarotti Playing with Death , which was published on May 19, 2016, rose, like the two works before, to the South Tyrol's bestseller list.
