Elisabeth Furtwängler

Elisabeth Furtwängler (born Albert, widowed Ackermann; * December 20, 1910 in Vaud ; † March 5, 2013 in Clarens ) was a German writer .

Elisabeth Furtwängler was the youngest daughter from the marriage of the industrialist Ernst Albert to the politician Katharina von Kardorff-Oheimb .

Her first husband, Hans Ackermann, died in the French campaign. She had four children with him, including the actress Kathrin Ackermann . In 1944 she married the conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler in her second marriage . The two had a child together, the archaeologist Andreas E. Furtwängler . Elisabeth Furtwängler had over thirty grandchildren and great-grandchildren at the end of her life, one granddaughter is the actress Maria Furtwängler .

She wrote a book about her marriage to Furtwängler and was most recently the patroness of the Furtwängler family .
