Elisabeth Roloff
Elisabeth Roloff (born February 18, 1937 in Bielefeld ; † December 14, 2008 there ) was a German organist.
Elisabeth Roloff received her first organ lessons as a teenager at the age of 13 at the Evangelical Luther Church in Bielefeld-Sieker. Elisabeth Roloff studied at the universities of music in Berlin and Cologne . After graduating with the diploma in organ at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne, she continued her organ studies at London's Royal College of Music with Ralph Downes. From 1974 to 1982 she was “Organiste Titulaire” at the Evangelical Christ Church in Paris , during which time she studied French organ music with Marie-Claire Alain .
Since 1982 the church musician has been a lecturer at the Rubin Academy of Music and Dance in Jerusalem . She also worked as titular organist at the Church of the Redeemer in Jerusalem . With her concerts in most of Europe , the USA in South America and Mexico she gained international renown and recognition. With radio and vinyl recordings as well as her teaching activities, she brought her interest in organ and organ music to Israel. The highlights were the Bach Organ Festival in Jerusalem , when she performed the entire organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach there and helped shape the 2003 Israel International Organ Festival in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa. In addition to many radio appearances and recordings, the artist has released numerous CDs with the company DG - Dabringhaus und Grimm in Detmold .
