Elisabeth Schache

Elisabeth Schache (born October 28, 1906 in Birnbaum / Province of Posen ; † March 23, 1999 in Schmallenberg ) was a sister of the order (Sister Maria Kallista ) and general procurator of the order of the Sisters of Charity of St. Charles Borromeo .

Life

Elisabeth Schache did a commercial apprenticeship after elementary school and then worked as a secretary and accountant . In 1928 she entered the Order of the Sisters of Mercy in Trebnitz . From 1930 to 1949 she worked in the administration of St. George's Hospital in Wroclaw . In September 1949, like the other German members of the order, she was forced to leave for the Federal Republic of Germany . She came to the Grafschaft monastery near Schmallenberg and was entrusted with the reconstruction there. From 1951 to 1981 she was General Procurator of the Order. During her tenure, Grafschaft was a mother house of the order and became a recognized specialist hospital. In 1967 she was personally awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class by the then Federal Minister of the Interior, Paul Lücke . In 1983 she received the Schmallenberg Ring of Honor.
