Heiko Buhr (born July 1, 1964 in Neumünster ) is a German writer . He writes plays , radio plays , poems and stories .

Life

After graduating from high school, Heiko Buhr completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk before studying German literature from 1988 and receiving his doctorate in 1997 . He worked as a museum attendant, carpentry assistant, shelf fitter, proofreader and printer shipping employee. From 1999 to 2009 he worked in social affairs as a pedagogical supervisor and has been a freelance writer and journalist since 2010. Heiko Buhr lives and works in Kiel .

In 1999 Heiko Buhr received the renowned play prize from the industrialist Heinz Dürr for his play Ausstand . Since 2000 he has received invitations to various piece markets, for example in Berlin and Heidelberg. His pieces have been performed internationally.

The theme of Heiko Buhrs in his radio plays and plays is a socially critical reflection of reality, which is based on the one hand on a documentary representation of reality, but on the other hand gives language an unauthorized status. At the same time Heiko Buhr writes subtle farces and comedies as well as profound family dramas. His work is largely rooted in the literature of the second half of the 20th century.
