Elisabeth Zillken

Elisabeth Zillken (born July 8, 1888 in Wallerfangen ; † November 28, 1980 in Dortmund ) was a German politician ( center and CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school in Wallerfangen and the higher commercial school for girls in Cologne , Zillken, who was of the Roman Catholic faith, completed an internship in a jewelry trading company in Mainz from 1906 to 1908 . She then completed a course of study at the Cologne Commercial College as a qualified commercial teacher .

Zillken, a close colleague of Agnes Neuhaus , was Secretary General of the Catholic Welfare Association for Girls, Women and Children in Dortmund from 1916 to 1932 . Anna Zillken , also a close colleague of Neuhaus, was her sister.

MPs

From 1919 to 1933 Elisabeth Zillken was a member of the Dortmund city council for the center. From 1930 to 1933 she was a member of the central parliamentary group of the Reichstag . From 1945 she belonged to the Dortmund council for the CDU; there she left in 1964.

In 1946/47 she was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .
