Elise Goebeler
Elise Goebeler (also Göbeler, born May 6, 1847 in Bad Freienwalde ; † February 21, 1913 in Berlin ) was a German portrait and genre painter.
She studied from 1870 to 1872 with Carl Steffeck in Berlin and from 1896 to 1898 with Wilhelm Dürr the Younger in Munich .
Her work Cinderella (Cinderella), exhibited in Berlin in 1880 , was purchased by the imperial art collections. In the same year she exhibited Young Girl with Willow Blossoms and Neapolitan Water Seller. The picture Sleeping Beauty with the old spinner , painted in 1881 , appeared on the front page of the Illustrirten Zeitung . In Berlin in 1887 she showed Vanitas, Vanitatum Vanitas and Netzflicker , in 1897 happiness . The elegy , exhibited in Munich's Glaspalast in 1899 , was highly rated by art critics.
In the period from 1883 to 1887 she visited Italy. In 1906 she opened her own school studio in Berlin. She was a member of the Association of Berlin Women Artists .
