Elke Kast

Elke Kast (* 1946 in Schmalkalden ; † January 6, 1993 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German television announcer .

After several years working as an assistant to Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff in his ARD show One Will Win , Elke Kast switched to ZDF as an editor in 1976 . There she became known to a wide audience in her work as a program presenter, which she exercised for 16 years. In addition, she also moderated other formats such as The Sunday Concert . In 1981 she acted as assistant to Heinz Eckner in the ZDF council show Ein Wort aus Musik, directed by Hans Rosenthal . In 1991 she switched to ZDF's main editorial team as an editor. There she supervised u. a. My friends - the artists from and with Freddy Quinn . In addition, from 1984 to 1987 she was part of Hans-Jürgen Bäumler's advice team in the ZDF program The apple doesn't fall far from the tree . On September 13, 1991, she announced the start of the series of The Simpsons in Germany .

Elke Kast died on January 6, 1993 of complications from colon cancer . She left a daughter. She separated from her husband Manfred Kast in 1988 after 18 years.
