Elke Maes (born February 26, 1943 in Neustadt in Saxony ) is a German politician. Her father was the painter and sculptor Rudolf Brückner-Fuhlrott (1908–1984). Elke Maes is the mother of five children.

Life

education

After studying from 1962 to 1966 at the Pedagogical University of Potsdam , Elke Maes completed her doctorate in the 1980s at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . From 1966 to 1972 she taught at the company school blocks , then until 1978 at the company school Friesack . From 1978 to 1987 she taught at the Eisenberg Polytechnic . The 29th Berlin-Hohenschönhausen secondary school followed until 1990 .

Political career

1979 Elke Maes joined the GDR CDU . There she was elected to the party executive committee in December 1989. In 1990 she became a member of the CDU parliamentary group of the City Council of East Berlin and district chairwoman of the CDU Hohenschönhausen; from 1991 to 1994 she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . Until November 2005 she worked and was committed to school policy in Berlin.

Artistic activity

In addition to her political activities Maes had, since 2002, self-taught as a visual artist represented active and since 2003 at various exhibitions:
