Elke Lehrenkrauss

Elke Margarete Lehrenkrauss (* 1979 in Gifhorn ) is a German documentary filmmaker and visual artist . She lives and works in Berlin .

Life

Lehrenkrauss grew up in the south of the Lüneburg Heath and passed the Abitur in 1998 at the Otto Hahn Gymnasium (Gifhorn) . In 2012 she completed her film studies at the International Film School Cologne . Lehrenkrauss was a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation . In 2019 her documentary lovemobil was released about the everyday life of two sex workers who offer their services in a mobile home .

The Südwestrundfunk as the organizer of the Stuttgart SWR documentary festival announced on 1 July 2020 that teaching Krauss for love mobile this year's German documentary prize won. Since the main prize was awarded to a film by the Syrian documentary filmmaker Feras Fayyad with equal points, the prize money of 20,000 euros has to be divided.
