Elke Talhorst

Elke Talhorst (born April 16, 1945 in Bochum ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1995 to 2010 she was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life and work

Elke Talhorst completed school with a secondary school leaving certificate and attended a business school . From 1961 to 1963 she completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and received a commercial assistant certificate . From 1985 to 1987 she took part in an administration course from the Moers miners' union , which she completed as a social security clerk, and then practiced this profession.

Political party

On April 1, 1972, Elke Talhorst joined the SPD. From 1977 to 1979 she was an assessor on the board of the SPD sub-district Wesel , where she acted as secretary from 1980 to 1984 . In 1985 she was elected deputy chairwoman of the subdistrict and held this office until 1995. She was also a board member of the SPD district of Niederrhein from 1984 to 2000 . Talhorst is a member of the trade union IG Bergbau, Chemie, Energie .

Public offices

From 1979 to May 18, 2001, Elke Talhorst was a member of the Moers City Council and from 1989 to 1994 he was also a member of the Wesel District Council . From June 1, 1995 to June 8, 2010 she was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia as a directly elected member of the Wesel IV constituency . In the 12th electoral term she was the deputy chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control, in the 13th term she was the deputy chairwoman of the Budget and Finance Committee and in the 14th term she was deputy chairwoman of the Sports Committee.
