The Elle is a river in France that runs in the Normandy region . It rises in the municipality of Saint-Germain-d'Elle , just on the border with the neighboring municipality of Rouxeville , drains generally towards the northwest, reaches the Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin regional nature park and flows 32 kilometers into the municipality of Neuilly-la-Forêt as right tributary into the Vire . On its way the Elle crosses the departments of Manche and Calvados .
