Elliot Clawson

Elliot Jud Clawson (born January 19, 1883 in Salt Lake City , Utah , † July 21, 1942 in Vista , California ) was an American film producer and screenwriter who was nominated for four Oscars at the Academy Awards in April 1930 .

Life

Clawson began as a screenwriter and scenario and story writer for silent films in 1913 with the film Shadows of Life by Phillips Smalley and Lois Weber, and has helped create over 80 films over the course of his career.

He had his greatest success at the second Academy Awards in April 1930 when he was nominated for the Oscar in the category best adapted screenplay for four films , namely for the crime drama The Cop (1928) by Donald Crisp , the film drama Skyscraper (1928) by Howard Higgin , the drama Sal of Singapore (1928) by Howard Higgin and the war film The Leatherneck (1929), also directed by Howard Higgin.

Most recently he was involved in a film with the dialogue texts for the film The Thírteenth Chair (1929) by Tod Browning . He also co-produced two films as co-producer, The Hoosier Schoolmaster (1914) by Edwin August and Max Figman and A Certain Rich Man (1921) by Howard C. Hickman .
