The Elliott Hills are a group of low hills and nunatakkers in the center of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . They extend over a length of about 20 km at the northwest end of the Gutenko Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the area in 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain range in 1976 after Lieutenant Commander David J. Elliott of the United States Navy , commander of a Lockheed C-130 for aerial photography and mapping Ice thickness in large areas of Antarctica as part of Operation Deep Freeze in 1970 and 1971.
