Elmar Rümmele (born August 21, 1927 in Dornbirn ; † December 1, 2008 ibid) was an Austrian business lawyer and state politician for the ÖVP in Vorarlberg. From January 1980 to January 1981 he was a member of the state parliament and from 1974 to 1984 a member of the Vorarlberg state government as regional councilor .

Elmar Rümmele opened in 1954 after studying law at the University of Innsbruck , he with the promotion to Doctor of Law had been completed (jur Dr.), A law firm as an auditor and tax consultant in Dornbirn. He was involved in his professional professional representation and was state president of the Chamber of Public Accountants in Vorarlberg from 1965 to 1975 and a member of the Chamber of Commerce.

After the state elections on October 20, 1974 , he became a member of the state government for the first time on November 4, 1974 under Governor Herbert Keßler ( State Government Keßler III ). After the state election of October 21, 1979, he was confirmed in his office together with the other members of the state government and remained in office until the end of the legislative period on October 20, 1984 ( state government Keßler IV ).

Road construction and responsibility for the expansion and further development of the federal and state road network, including the important sections of the Rheintal and Walgau autobahns , fell into his competences as regional councilor . The development of Vorarlberg's first foreign public transport concept during his term of office was particularly appreciated by the tourism industry . He initiated many economic policy impulses, including the promotion of young entrepreneurs and the establishment of the “ WIFI Research and Development Department” in Dornbirn.

Until his death, Elmar Rümmele was one of the managing directors of the public trust and tax consultancy firm "RTG - Dr. Rümmele Treuhand GesmbH ”in Dornbirn.

Awards

On March 21, 1985 Elmar Rümmele received the Gold Medal of Honor from the Vorarlberg Tourism Association. On October 26, 1985 he was awarded the Silver Medal of Honor of the State of Vorarlberg .
