Elmer George (born July 15, 1928 in Hockerville , † May 30, 1976 in Terre Haute ) was an American racing driver .
Career
Elmer George started once in his career in a race for the Formula 1 World Championship . He started on May 30, 1957 at the Indianapolis 500 - this race was part of the world championship between 1950 and 1960 - and started from ninth on the grid. However, he retired on the first lap on a Kurtis Kraft 500- Offenhauser after an accident.
