The Elmigsbach , also called the Grippenhardt brook , is the 2.5 km long left and west source brook of the Adenauer Bach . It is the smaller source branch of the Adenauer Bach and is therefore seen by some as its inlet.
course
The Elmigsbach arises in two spring branches in the Adenau state forest . The right and eastern main branch rises at a height of about 462 m above sea level. NHN in the corridor Auf der Höh on the southeast slope of the Susserberg ( 484 m above sea level ) It initially flows in a north-easterly direction, its main direction of flow, which it essentially maintains until the confluence with the Breidscheider Bach , through the Unter dem Breier forest floor and then merges with the left and western source brook at the Am Gilbenrot floor . The combined stream now flows through the eponymous forest area In der Elmig, past the hunting lodge in the Leihwiese and shortly thereafter leaves the forest and now runs through a strip of grass towards the village of Breidscheid. In Breidscheid it finally unites in the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring at an altitude of about 338 m above sea level. NHN with the Breidscheider Bach to Adenauer Bach .
