Elmsford is a village in Westchester County in the US -Bundesstaat New York . It lies entirely in the parish of Greenburgh , is 1.1 square miles (2.8 km²) and had a population of 4664 in 2010.
The place is surrounded on three sides by expressways. To the west is Interstate 87 ( New York State Thruway ), to the north is Interstate 287 ( Cross Westchester Expressway ) and to the east is Sprain Brook Parkway . Elmsford has no rail connection, but was at least provided in the original plans of the New York, Westchester and Boston Railway as their northern end point; At the time, however, the line was only built as far as White Plains .
