Elsner von Gronow is the name of a noble family with origins in Lower Silesia. One branch of the family bears the name Elsner von der Malsburg .

A descent from the old Bohemian family Hronovice is named in older sources, but is not documented. The documented line of the family begins with Mathis Oelsner, Erbscholtisseibowner, who died on June 26, 1550 in Grune near Lissa / Lower Silesia . The first admission to the Silesian nobility took place on April 6, 1787, the nobility renewal on January 12, 1807. The nobility was abandoned a short time later. On September 15, 1852 the nickname "von Gronow" was adopted, and since June 4, 1856 the family has belonged to the Prussian nobility.

Elsner von der Malsburg

After a line of the von der Malsburg family died out in the male line in 1961, the descendants of Harald Elsner von Gronow and Friederike von der Malsburg at Elmarshausen Castle bear the name Elsner von der Malsburg and have been part of the Knighthood of Old Hessen since December 6, 1963 guided.
