Emil August of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg
Emil August von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg (born August 3, 1722 in Augustenburg ; † December 6, 1786 there ) was a royal Danish general of the infantry .
Life
His parents were Duke Christian August and his wife Friederike Luise von Danneskiold-Samsoe (1699–1744).
He first went into Dutch service and in 1747 came into Danish service. He became a colonel in the Zealand Infantry Regiment. He became major general in 1750 , lieutenant general in 1755 and general in 1763, and on March 31, 1763 he was awarded the Elephant Order . He was released in 1784 and died unmarried in 1786.
