Emil Hallatz
Karl Emil Julius Hallatz (* 1837 in Frankfurt (Oder) ; † September 15, 1888 in Friedenau , Brandenburg province ) was a German painter .
Life
Hallatz received his artistic training first at the academy in Berlin, then in particular from Carl Steffeck , under whose direction he trained as an animal and landscape painter . In 1862 he visited Paris, where he painted the works of the animal painters Constant Troyon , Rosa Bonheur a . a. studied, and in 1863 several cities in Italy.
Returning to Berlin, he took up residence there and developed a lively activity in animal pictures with energetic, brisk drawing, broad, witty painting style with bold, often humorous characteristics.
