Emil Hugo Tippmar

Emil Hugo Tippmar (born June 1, 1885 in Oberlungwitz , Saxony ; † July 31, 1954 in Rorschach ; legal domicile from 1934 in Heiden ) was a Swiss textile entrepreneur from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Emil Hugo Tippmar was a son of Franz Otto Tippmar. In 1908 he married Lina Frieda Hecker, daughter of Friedrich Hermann Hecker. He completed an apprenticeship as a stocking knitter . In 1920 he moved from Saxony to Switzerland. He had a job in a St. Gallen stocking mill . In 1930 he founded the stocking factory Media AG in Heiden. He was the main shareholder and technical director of the factory. The company lasted until 1993. In 1954, Tippmann's son Ruedi Tippmann took over technical management. In the 1960s and 1970s the company had up to 280 employees.
