Emil Juliš
Emil Juliš (born October 21, 1920 in Prague , † December 25, 2006 in Louny ) was a Czech poet and artist .
Life
Emil Juliš worked in some professions that were not related to artistic activity. In 1966 he took the position of editor of the Aussiger magazine Dialog , became its editor-in-chief in 1968 and expanded his activities as editor in 1970 to the associated publisher. In the same year the publishing house was closed and Juliš decided to work as a freelancer.
In 1990 Juliš received the Jaroslav Seifert Prize for Literature.
Works
His work was related to experimental poetry. His subjects are often unpoetic and deal with the region around Brüx .

Visual arts
Juliš usually illustrated his own books, a kind of virtual poetry. While these poems were banned in Czechoslovakia , he was able to display his stone carvings. They mostly show the landscapes in Northern Bohemia, with the focus on mining.
