Emil Kübler

Emil Kübler (born April 16, 1909 in Honau, today part of the municipality of Lichtenstein (Württemberg) ; † May 8, 1981 in Boll ) was a German church musician .

Kübler was born the son of a pastor. He studied piano and organ in Stuttgart . During his military service in World War II, he lost his right arm in Russia. After the war he began to study church music . After graduating, he was district cantor in the Fildern . He became known as the Filderkantor primarily for his sauerkraut cantata . He also appeared as a lyric poet, for example writing most of the poems in the cycle Night over White Hills , which he set to music in 1943.

In Leinfelden the Emil-Kübler-Weg and in the Leinfelden-Echterdingen district of Musberg the Emil-Kübler-Kinderhaus were named after the composer.
