Emil Kronke

Emil Kronke (born November 29, 1865 in Danzig ; † December 16, 1938 in Dresden ) was a German composer of the late Romantic period .

Kronke's parents encouraged his musical talent at an early age. Emil Kronke was trained at the conservatories in Leipzig and Dresden. His teachers included Carl Reinecke , the Thomas organist Karl Piutti , Felix Draeseke , Theodor Kirchner and Jean Louis Nicodé . At the age of 22, Emil Kronke settled in Dresden, where he worked as a piano teacher and pianist and as a chamber music partner.

In addition to piano works, Emil Kronke wrote orchestral works with and without piano as well as smaller operas for various instruments, especially for flute.
