Emil Löwenhardt (* 1858 in Nietleben ; † 1941 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German chemist , teacher and textbook author.

Life

Emil Löwenhardt studied at the University of Halle and was 1880 with his thesis Contributions to the knowledge of the Picrotoxins's for Dr. phil. PhD . Löwenhardt later worked as a teacher and senior teacher at the municipal high school in Halle an der Saale. He held the title of professor and in 1921 succeeded Heinrich Schotten as principal of the school.

He was a member of the Natural Science Association for Saxony and Thuringia in Halle aS

In 1923 Emil Löwenhardt was accepted as a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina in the chemistry section .
