Emil Theodor Stahl (born November 17, 1879 in Michelstadt , Erbach district , † April 25, 1956 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

After attending primary school in Frankfurt am Main, Stahl worked as a house servant and commercial assistant from 1894. In 1897 he became a member of the German Transport Workers' Association . In 1902 he joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). In 1907 he took a job as a secretary in the main office of the transport workers' association in Berlin . From 1915 to 1916 Stahl took part in the First World War. After his return from the war he worked as a local reporter for the SPD party newspaper Vorwärts .

In a by-election on March 14, 1917, Stahl entered the Reichstag for the constituency of Osthavelland . In the following year he was also a city councilor in Spandau (until 1921).

During the November Revolution of 1918, Stahl became chairman of the Spandau Workers 'and Soldiers' Council and, as such, was delegated to the Reich Council Congress in December . From 1918 to 1921 he was a city ​​councilor in Spandau. From January 1919 to June 1920 Stahl was a member of the Weimar National Assembly as a representative of constituency 4 (administrative district 1 Potsdam). In the same year he took over the office of 2nd mayor of Spandau, which he held until 1921. From 1922 to 1933 he headed the district association of the SPD in Brandenburg-Grenzmark. From 1924 to 1933 he was also a member of the SPD party executive committee. From 1925 to 1933 he was employed as the head of the economic department of the Berlin Transport Association. In 1928 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he was a member until 1933.

Stahl emigrated to Czechoslovakia in May 1933 and from there to Sweden in June 1938 , where he headed the SOPADE secretariat in Stockholm until 1943 . He spent his twilight years in Frankfurt am Main.
