Emil Taubert

Emil Taubert (born January 23, 1844 in Berlin ; †  April 10, 1895 there ) was a German philologist and writer .

Life

Taubert was the son of the composer Wilhelm Taubert and studied philology and philosophy at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in his hometown. After successfully completing this course, he got a job as a teacher at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Gymnasium (Berlin) .

The war of 1870-71 made Taubert in the " stage " with and then returned to teaching. In 1877 he was appointed senior teacher at the Royal Teachers' Seminar and nine years later he was promoted to director of the Royal Drama .

In addition to his regular job, an extensive literary work was created over the years, which received great attention from the public and literary criticism.

Emil Taubert died in Berlin in 1895 at the age of 51. He was buried in Cemetery II of the Jerusalem and New Churches in front of the Hallesches Tor . The grave is preserved.
