Emiliano Antonio Cisneros Martínez OAR (born February 8, 1945 in Almazul , Spain ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop of the Chachapoyas diocese .

Life

Emiliano Antonio Cisneros Martínez studied philosophy and theology in the seminaries of the Augustinian recollects in Logroño , San Millán de la Cogolla and Salamanca . He was ordained a priest on July 14, 1968 . He was then sent by his order to the Chota Prelature , where he was pastor from 1968 to 1981 . After that, Emiliano Cisneros held various offices within his order until 1993, including as advisor to the General Curia in Rome.

On December 7, 1993, he was appointed Bishop of the Chota Prelature. He was ordained bishop on January 6, 1994 by Pope John Paul II ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishops of the Curia Giovanni Battista Re , Official of the State Secretariat , and Josip Uhač , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples . After José Ignacio Alemany Grau's retirement as Bishop of Chachapoyas, he also took over the administration of the Chachapoyas diocese in 2000, to which he moved as the new diocesan bishop in 2002 .

Bishop Cisneros participated in the V General Assembly of Bishops from Latin America and the Caribbean in Aparecida in 2007 and was involved in the preparation of its final document.

Emiliano Antonio Cisneros Martínez was also Apostolic Administrator of the Territorial Prelature of Huamachuco from August 7, 2018 to July 26, 2019 .
