In addition, she was a lay judge at the district court in Sisimiut from 1979 to 1983 . In 1983 she stood up as a representative for Anguteeraq Davidsen for parliamentary elections. In the 1984 election she ran herself and was elected to the Inatsisartut . In 1987 she succeeded in re-election, as in 1991. From 1993 to 1997 she was 2nd Vice Mayor. She did not run for the 1995 parliamentary elections. During her political career, she served on a wide variety of local and national committees.
