Emilie Tagliana , also Emilia Tagliana ( 1854 in Milan , Italy - after 1902 ) was an Italian opera singer ( coloratura soprano ) and Prussian chamber singer .

Life

She received her training at the conservatory in her hometown and perfected it with Giovanni Battista Lamperti . She made her first attempts at stage in Italy, later she appeared in Paris and Odessa , and even then she achieved great success. As a well-known coloratura singer , she came to Vienna to continue studying with Hans Richter . She continued to develop artistically and in 1877 accepted a call to the Court Opera Theater in Berlin. There she quickly gained general sympathy and became the darling of the theater audience. In Berlin she also created “Carmen” with exceptional recognition. After several years of activity, she left Berlin, first went to Italy and soon afterwards withdrew completely from the stage. The place and date of death are unknown.
